Bogere upbeat on play-off final

It is Judgment Day on Saturday for Big League sides Victoria University and Aurum Roses as they look to grab their last chance to make it to the Uganda Super League.

The winners between the two in the play-off final at Namboole will feature in the country’s topflight league for the 2012/13 season.

And it is that allure that has Victoria University assistant coach Steven Bogere relishing the Saturday final.

But the former Uganda Cranes and SC Villa gifted midfielder knows his opponents don’t come in an easy bundle.

“That team gave us a hard time in the group stages, beating us at their home ground,” he said.

“But am sure we shall turn out winners at the end of the day. We are ready and prepared but we expect a tough game.”

Victoria qualified for the play-off final after edging out CRO 8-7 on post-match penalties. Victoria’s Denis Guma, the former SC Villa defender, is the stand out name in the final.

The defender, who is as comfortable at the back as in the midfield, scored the side’s goal against CRO that took the game to shoot-outs.
